Hey guys,

I am going to follow up on the idea that a permanant arrest record is on file...thanks for the thought.

Leah is not too easily rattled. I, too, do not understand why they just did not smelll it. I have some empathy for the cops: there is a huge drug flow in SW MO and there is no telling what is next.....

I am a basil adcict, myself. My wife uses fresh herbs as much as she can....no comparrison to the dried stuff is there?

I have been real busy with work, my mom (24/7,) and work so have not been posting, however, I scan the board, almost, every night. Wish all well.

Every parent's nightmare: a child busted for drugs...

Leah, our youngest, was driving through Billingss, Mo, a little town between here and Springfield. Speeding. Pulled over. Cop notices bag of "green" in seat under some other stuff. Daughter cuffed, put in the police care, hauled to jail, and sets there two hours.

Then, after all this, they take her out of the cell and haul her back to her car.

Reason: Because BASIL is not, yet, considered a controlled substance in the State of Mo......

As things go, Mrs Williams gave Leah the basil to take out to my mom's to make some soup....the rest is, now, a fairly good story.....

I will miss him.........

my cousin - only 65 - and until monday in seemingly good health - took a walk to his little woodshop and did not return on monday.

two hours later his wife found him.

Missing friends

over the years i have made many friends online that are jw's.

when my doubts were such with the organization that i was full on posting here, little by little i withdrew from my jw friends online and in person.

no explanation, i have not responded to emails over time, and just let those friendships die down.. out of respect.......i felt sneaky in my researching the organization and just was not sure where my thoughts and feelings were going to land.. today, i unblocked someone on my messenger to chat with them.

I appreciate the sincere and loving post you just wrote and, for you and many others, I wish things were different.....they are not.

I have reached the conviction that all JW "friendships" are illusions: they are built on a foundation of error, half truths, mis-information,and lies. It is a foundation of sand. Anything built on this material that appears firm and substantial is an illusion. However, post exiting, when we are dealing with the real person in the real world: things can be different: friendships that are real and founded in respect, mutual conerns, and other give/take attributes of relationships that benefit ourselves and "the other."

Wishing you well as you sort all this out.....

Stupid Idiots at the meeting

i was at the sunday meeting today (i know, i know...) and i heard this one guy give a comment about how hollywood movies always portray rich people as happy and successful, so that's proof that satan controls the film industry because it's a lie.. .

i struggled to think of one recent hollywood film that portrayed anyone as being happy, let alone rich and happy.

if they made a movie like this guy was describing, it wouldn't sell.

First welcome aboard...looking forward to your posts...

Ray Franz, for all the good he has done, has faulted in one huge area: he assists in leading people out of the WT: just outside the "gate," and, there they squat.

He and many he has affacted progress, in my opinion, no further. Ray is as tied to WT theology more than ever because it is what he does NOT believe. OK....good and well. However, he has not led people to anyplace: in order to do so, in order to go to the beginning of the Christian Faith and start there and go forward: this would require an admission that Ray does not seem to want to make.

Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult and here's why I think so

when most people think of "cult" they think of the people's temple, the branch davidians, or heaven's gate.

many also want to put jehovah's witnesses, mormons, and scientologists into this group.

i don't agree with that because there is one main difference between true cults and high-control groups like jws:.

The JWs are not a cult, Bush is not a Republican, the Pope is not Roman Catholic, and the US is not in the Northern Hemisphere.

Funeral I went to Saturday, has made me think a lot about. . .

this fabulous 42 yr old, fun, smart, dear wife and mother of 2 teenage boys.

she was incredibly close to her older sister, they were best friends, and naturally the whole large family is devastated.

even her sons' basketball coach stood up to speak of her and sobbed uncontrollably about how dear a person she was, especially dying so young.

Good post: your thoughts are on the mark. Realizing the differences between the mockery of love an truth connected to the WT with the reality of Life is a huge leap post exit.

I'm placing a Climax book with my new therapist

yep, oompa started today with a new therapist who of course wanted to know if i had anything in particular that was the cause of me seeking his service.

so i kinda gave him a jwcult for dummy therapists cliffnotes version, and he seemed like he just couldn't believe some of it.

he understands my awakening has been difficult for me and the stress it has put on my wife and marriage/family.

Went off outside walmart.

i was loading my purchase in my car yesterday when i saw out of the corner of my eye a 20 something man in suit and tie walk up to me and he was holding what i knew was a watchtower.. after 30 years of slavery and i was running late i went off on him, before he could even open his mouth i said, i was part of your cult for 30 years before i left.

he asked what made me leave, i told him that if when christ came invisibly to earth in 1914 and saw russell and his little group of bible students were the only people who had it right and so gave him authority over his earthly preaching work, why would you be disfellowshiped for teaching anything russell tought?

if the bible says that a person who predicts something to happen and it does not come to pass he is a false profit and the society had not been right on one thing, i told him i lived through [stay alive till 75] and knew many who sold their homes and had enough to live on just until 75 and again nothing happend, did he know that the second pres.
